You’re in for a real treat today! Jessica and Clint’s intimate wedding is filled with so many sweet handmade details, all handcrafted by the bride herself. Jessica created everything from the boutonnieres to the favors to the desserts to the signs, plus virtually all of the decor! Oh, and just wait until you see Jessica’s darling dress from Dolly Couture… *love.* Jessica and Clint’s wedding was held at the bride’s family home in Sebastopol, California, which was the perfect location for their intimate celebration.

Affordable Bridesmaid Dresses

Posted by   Categories // Resources

Earlier this week I talked about summer groom fashion, and it just wouldn’t be right if I left the ladies out, so today’s post is focused on cute, affordable bridesmaid dresses and where to find them.

While shopping for dresses online can be a little nerve-racking, it has the potential to save you a good amount of dough so it’s definitely something to consider. Just make sure that wherever you purchase the dresses from will allow you to return or exchange them if they don’t fit right!

The key to finding an affordable bridesmaid dress is to search for dresses that aren’t technically bridesmaid dresses. Anything that is considered a “bridesmaid” dress is most likely going to be more expensive. But there are tons of cute dresses that are completely wedding-worthy that don’t have that tag attached to them, which can really help you out.

My favorite sites to shop for affordable dresses are ModCloth, Ruche, and Lily Boutique. Most of the dresses below are from these three sites. You can find the source of each dress below the photos.

Another site that has affordable bridesmaid dresses is PromGirl. Don’t be fooled by the name, there are loads of cute dresses on this site from casual to very formal, some at incredible prices!

Celeb16 is another site to consider, BUT they will not allow returns unless something is wrong with the dress. So don’t purchase a dress from them unless you are fairly certain it is going to work out. The good thing is that most of their dresses are $59.99, and they have a sale going where you get a dress free when you buy three. I ordered a dress from Celeb16 (the one in the middle below, but in purple) and it came very quickly, and I was quite impressed with the quality of material. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit me quite right…. so always make sure to check and see if the site allows returns! I definitely learned my lesson there.

A few more sites to check out are Chloe Loves Charlie, Forever 21, and JC Penney. I found my bridesmaid dress recently at JC Penney for $25 and it fits and looks amazing! The good thing about Forever 21 and JC Penney is that you can browse online first and then go try dresses on at the store.

What are some other great resources for affordable bridesmaid dresses? I’d love to hear where you got yours from.

What happens when you have a super crafty mom and sister-in-law? You have an incredible wedding filled with meaningful handmade details! Dave’s mom, Kathy, and sister-in-law, Erin, were happy to take on this task for Beatriz & Dave. The wedding took place in Dave’s parent’s backyard in Illinois, and everything from the signs to the photobooth to the favors were handmade.

Friends and neighbors also helped pull the whole event together by setting everything up the morning of, transporting guests in golf carts to the ceremony site, serving wine, and even keeping a positive attitude when a storm hit just an hour before the ceremony! Thankfully, the rain ceased and the sun came out just in time for the ceremony to begin (phew!).

This sweet handmade wedding, captured by Danya Jimenez Photography, is truly a labor of love for everyone involved and their efforts certainly paid off. What a lucky couple to have so many talented and helpful people in their lives!

How adorable is this “Here Comes the Bride” sign? Signs played a major role in the decor of Dave and Beatriz’s wedding… this is the first of many!

What a neat idea — listing the family & bridal party on a wooden pallet! Who knew there were so many uses for these things.

Another super cute idea– having signs with the names of the flower girls and ring bearers. A great way to honor everyone who’s a part of your big day!

Such a fun DIY photobooth that they put together. Photobooths do not need to be expensive– anyone can have one! All you need is a backdrop, some fun props, and disposable cameras.

Wildflower Wedding Ideas

Posted by   Categories // Inspiration

If you don’t already love wildflowers…. well, you are going to after this post. Ever since my friend Kyra said she wanted to do wildflowers for her rustic backyard wedding, I have been in love. Before the wedding, we are going to take a trip to Sparhawk Farms to pick fresh wildflowers for the big day! I think it will be a lot of fun and it’s a great activity to do with the bridesmaids.

If you are on a tight budget, wildflowers may be the answer to your floral dilemma. Just take a look at the photos below and you will see how beautiful they can really be! Pop them in a mason jar for an instant centerpiece or dress them up with some burlap and lace for a colorful, carefree bouquet.

The whole time I’ve been working on this post I have had the song “Pickin’ Wildflowers” by Keith Anderson stuck in my head…

Baby whatcha say we go pickin’ wildflowers?
Got a spot way back in the woods.
Sneak away for a couple of hours,
You and me baby, pickin’ wildflowers.
