Good morning and happy first of December! I’m so glad this month is here, especially now that my daughter is getting a little older (she’ll be two in March) and can understand more of what’s going on with the holidays. She is still a *little* afraid of Santa but we are working on it (you should see her Santa photo from last year… haha oh my gosh, poor thing was terrified!)
binary international broker review I am currently in the Seattle area visiting my family and am heading back home to Oregon on Wednesday. We’ve had a wonderful Thanksgiving and much needed family time and I am super thankful to have been able to spend a full week here. Today I thought it would only be fitting to share Sarah & Nathan’s lovely Seattle engagement session by Salt & Pine Photography.
option rally forum Here is what Joe & Darryl Ann of Salt & Pine had to say about Sarah and Nathan’s session: “We met Sarah and Nathan for their engagement session at a coffee shop in West Seattle on a very rainy fall day. We sat down for a cup to see if the rain let up, and miraculously – it did! We started off walking the trails of Camp Long, where Sarah and Nathan shared lots of laughs together. It took the two of them no time to get comfortable in front of the camera. We spent sunset at a pier near Alki Beach, before driving into Seattle to go to Pioneer Square. Sarah had sent us a text with a picture of the square lit up, mentioning it might be worth visiting if it rained during their session. We decided to go at dusk, rain or shine, and it was more than worth it! We had Pioneer Square all to ourselves, and it was a perfectly romantic setting for the two of them.”

I love the variety of the three different locations Sarah and Nathan chose for their engagement session — all so different but all so very “Seattle.” So happy that the weather held out for them and that they were able to get this incredible photos with Salt & Pine Photography!
If you’re in the Seattle area and in need of an engagement or wedding photographer, you know who to call! Did you see this nautical Seattle engagement session by Salt & Pine Photography that I shared not too long ago?
Have a lovely Monday!
There is just something about an adorable, authentic couple and some killer scenery. I knew this engagement session was special from the minute I clicked on the first image, and as I kept clicking through I fell more and more in love with these sweet photos by Salt & Pine Photography. Khristy and Fletcher are just darling and clearly without-a-question SO head over heals for each other.
From their photographers: “Khristy and Fletcher are as authentic as they come. They own a sailboat docked at Lake Union, and our original plan was to take the sailboat for a spin for their engagement session. When that didn’t work out due to the sailboat needing repairs, we decided to take their rowboat out instead – the very one Fletcher had proposed to Khristy in. Photographing these two in their element on the water was a blast!”

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Happy Friday! I feel like this week flew by… I can’t believe I’ve already gotten one full week of blogging back on the books after such a long break. The good news is I’ve been loving it!
Since I am just getting back in to the blogging game, I am planning to do between 3-5 posts/week at least for now. I was consistently doing 5+ posts/week in the past, but with my daughter and my wedding planning business, I want to make sure I’m not overdoing it. So if you see that I missed a day — don’t panic. ;)
I’m super excited about today’s darling engagement session, because it features one of the couples I am currently working with! Amanda Photographic did such a fantastic job of capturing Dena and Mike’s personalities throughout these photos, and I think it’s clear to see how head over heels these two are for each other.
Read on to see all of the adorable photos and to hear a bit about Dena + Mike’s love story!
In Amanda’s words…
“Mike and Dena were high school sweethearts. She was the quiet new girl in town, he was the cute/nerdy boy on the cross-county team. They had a sweet young love for a year, then Dena moved away for college. They kept in contact for years, each secretly harboring THE question, “What if…?” …then, they lost touch.
Six years ago Mike emailed Dena out of the blue. He was living in Washington DC, and he’d had a dream about her. Dena was in medical school in Phoenix, and by chance there was a conference in DC that spring. She signed up at the last minute, met Mike for dinner, and they fell in love all over again. And so began their long-distance romance. “I can feel your love through space”, one texted to the other. “Space Love!” the other replied.
By the end of the year, Mike said goodbye to DC and moved home to California, to help the family business. When Dena had medical school rotations in Portland and Seattle, he joined her. They both wanted to move to Oregon. Dena graduated and started residency in Corvallis a few years later. Mike came along, and they jumped into a new life together with both feet! She brought her dog and he brought his cat – nicknamed The Otter Clan. Mike and Dena supported each other in their new ventures–her in a grueling internal medicine residency, he in a start-up art supply store.
While on a Key West boardwalk, watching the legendary sunset, during their annual escape-the-drizzle winter vacation, Mike proposed! Dena’s shocked response: “For real? Is this the real one?”…I’m pretty sure after that there was a “Yes!” and some kissing.”
Thank you Amanda for sharing these lovely photos with us, and congratulations Mike and Dena! I am SO looking forward to working with you both on your wedding this summer.
And if ya’ll can’t get enough, you can see even more photos of these two right here on Amanda’s blog.
Don’t forget — our current giveaway ends on Sunday evening and we’ll be announcing the winner on Monday. You still have time to enter here!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!!
This post could also be appropriately titled “world’s longest blog hiatus comes to an end.” Ha! I never thought this day would come but I am SO excited to get Bow Ties & Bliss running again with new content. It has been sitting idle for far too long, and I am happy to say that I have some big plans + changes in the works for this little blog.
In the time that BT&B has been on hiatus, I… had a baby (who is now very much a toddler), started my wedding & event planning business, celebrated my five year wedding anniversary with my husband, and soon we will be buying our first home. All sorts of exciting things! I also quit my day job, allowing me to stay home with my daughter and run my business from home. Over the last several months I have been so conflicted about the fate of my lovely blog that I had put so much time, love, and energy in to for two years. Do I sell it? Do I get it going again? I hated the fact that it was just sitting here and that nothing was happening with it. Ultimately I decided that I couldn’t part with it, and that the time had come to revive it.
So, here we are! That should get you up to speed on the last 2+ years (eek that’s such an embarrassingly long time… like I said, longest blog hiatus ever!)
Which brings us to today’s lovely fall engagement session that couldn’t be more perfect to share just weeks before Thanksgiving. Julia and Mike’s session with Blush Wedding Photography took place at the groom’s family’s cranberry farm in British Columbia, Canada. Cranberry harvest season + engagement photos = perfect timing for some fun + festive photos.
Love that last shot… looks like they are in the middle of a cranberry sea that just goes on for ever.
Many thanks to Kristy at Blush Wedding Photography for sharing these beautiful photos with us!
Stay tuned, I’ll be back tomorrow with more pretty photos AND a fabulous giveaway!!
