Happy Monday!
I have been holding on to this little gem for a while now and I am so thrilled to share it with you today. This engagement is definitely one of my favorites that I have ever posted on BT&B…dare I say it is my favorite of all?? I have a hard time with such big statements but it just might be true. :)
Lauren and Sam’s gorgeous engagement session took place in a cotton field in Baker, Florida. When I first saw this shoot I was immediately sold by Sam’s awesome bow tie, their adorable outfits, and the gorgeous cotton field, but most of all I was captivated by the phenomenal photography by Jessica of J’adore La Photographie.
Here is the super sweet engagement story from Sam’s point of view!
“On Saturday, June 25th 2011, I proposed to Lauren Elizabeth Preston. She said yes. For over a year now, I had been planning on digging up a time capsule that Lauren and I buried five years ago, and planting the ring in it. That plan backfired, however, as I, by myself, dug up the capsule two weeks early, and found that everything therein was absolutely ruined. The capsule had filled with water, and utterly destroyed all of its contents.
Plan B quickly started to take shape. I had it in my mind that I wanted to arrange a scavenger hunt, but I had no idea how to execute it without making it painfully obvious that a proposal was the grand end. I devised the scavenger hunt, and enlisted the help of Lauren’s parents and mine. Our Mom’s wrote out the clues in their hand writing, and made it look like the adventure was for both of us rather than just for Lauren. We ate at Tradewinds for dinner, and came out to my truck to find the first clue waiting for us.
We then began our journey taking us to Goofy Golf (our first date), Lauren’s front porch (where we shared our first kiss), and then to my back porch (where I first told Lauren that I loved her). From there, our final clue took us out to this little church in Destin (in the middle of nowhere). We had found this church a few months earlier while on a bike ride on old 98. We had talked about how cool the location was, just for it’s aesthetic value. Lauren was blind folded as we drove up to the church, because the scavenger hunt demanded her to be blind folded. We arrived to find the site set up with candles, flowers, and rose petals. From there, I removed the blind fold, got down on one knee , and asked Lauren to marry me (In a few more words than that). She said yes.”

Congratulations Lauren and Sam!!
And a huge thank you to Jessica for sharing this gorgeous engagement shoot with us. Check out her website to see more of her stunning work!
